Frequently Asked Questions

Q.  How much is it to train?

A. Just like many gyms, we have a base rate for month to month and the price decreases for contracts or prepayment. Also, there are discounts for families and organizations. There is also rate for limited attendance. One time visits are charged a mat fee of $10. Contact us or stop by for more info.

Q. Do I have to fight or compete at Guerrilla Fitness?

A. No. Most of our members are training for fun, fitness and self defense. If you would like to take your game to the next level and try competition then we are happy to assist you, but we will not push you in that direction.

Q. Am I going to get beat up or worked to exhaustion?

A. That is entirely up to you. Any student is welcome to participate in or abstain from any drill. Your involvement is entirely decided upon by you. The first part of class is always basic fundamentals and drills. Sparring is done toward the end of class and conditioning is done last so you can leave at anytime. Alternatively, you could watch the sparring and then participate in the conditioning portion.

If you do choose to spar, you will be sparring with someone of similar size and skill level under close supervision of an instructor or at a controlled, instructional pace with an instructor. We do not "feed" new students to experienced fighters to test their toughness or any such garbage. You have nothing to prove to us or anyone else. We also do not use new students as punching bags or grappling dummies. You are there to learn. We are there to teach. Fighter training is kept separate from regular training. However, any student is welcome to watch fighter training to help them advance faster if that is their goal.

Q. How soon can I fight?

A. That is entirely up to you. A person with some full contact or grappling experience may be ready to fight relatively soon where as someone with little or no experience may take longer. We will evaluate your skills as you progress and let you know where you stand. At GFMMA, you will have to make the Fight Team. See the Fight Team section for more info.
